The Downtown Freshii is 1,400 square feet and is located in the heart of Baltimore. Freshii is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers a diverse menu of chef-designed salads, wraps, rice bowls, yogurts and soups, as well as “custom built” option so customers can create something that is uniquely their own. Off-site catering is also available for parties, meetings, receptions and special events.
Freshii is changing the face of fast food by expanding across the globe and bringing an innovative mission of green business practices and healthy, responsible eating. Mindfully operating without energy-devouring dishwashers, hoods, ranges and ovens and with efficient store sizes, Freshii stores are greener, healthier and simpler. Everything taken from Freshii either biodegrades naturally or is easily recyclable. The packaging (bowls, straw, cutlery, fountain cups, etc.) is made from eco-friendly vegetable starches, like corn or potatoes, biodegrading quickly, leaving behind only carbon, biomass and water. What is more, if a customer brings in a bowl, it is happily washed and filled with Freshii’s best.
Freshii's popularity skyrocketed after its flagship location opened in Toronto in 2005, winning Freshii the title of Best New Retail Concept in Canada during its first year of business. Two years later, Freshii was named the 22nd Fastest Growing Company in Canada. In 2008, U.S.-based QSR Magazine dubbed Freshii "One to Watch." In October of 2008, Freshii founder and CEO, Matthew Corrin, was interviewed by Sir Richard Branson at an interactive entrepreneur's summit about the risks and rewards associated with owning and operating a fast growing business. With 50 locations currently opened, 80 by 2012, 300 signed to open by 2015, and a store opening each week, the brand has been dubbed the next Starbucks.
Freshii's new store openings have been met by massive lines of people looking to satisfy their craving for a nutritious meal on the go. Freshii's menu offers ”custom built” salads, burritos, wraps, rice bowls, yogurts and soups in a "build your own" format, personalized with ingredients from three categories: light - super low in fat, but high in fiber, essential vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and lean protein, balanced - essential fats, slow-burning carbs, good oils and high protein, and classic - great flavors to be enjoyed in moderation. Visit Freshii's Web site to create a virtual salad, wrap, rice bowl or soup and instantly see the nutritional value of your ingredients. Since 2005, Freshii has achieved recognition as the perfect place for convenient, healthy and delicious meals and snacks served fast enough to fit into anyone's busy schedule. While a torrent of environmentally and nutritionally unfriendly restaurants abound, Freshii is taking a stand by eliminating traditional industry staples: excess packaging, heavy energy consumption, and greasy processed meals. Freshii's hip, friendly and environmentally sustainable atmosphere has brought the concept fast popularity and triggered its nations wide expansion across North America with 60 locations open and under development in over 18 cities around the world – including Dubai and Vienna.
